Cury School is a satellite school of Nancealverne School. Our vision and values are fully embedded across both schools. We place the highest importance on safeguarding and the welfare of our learners, alongside high aspirations, inclusion and ensuring that every learner is well prepared for the skills they need to lead a rich and fulfilling life beyond school or to successfully progress to their next phase of learning.

Cury School provides an inclusive, nurturing and supportive learning environment for primary-aged pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

We have high aspirations for every pupil and aim to support them in accessing education in a way that recognises and responds to the individual challenges they may experience within a school environment.

Our provision makes the most of the local community and the surrounding area. This means that learning and support may, where appropriate, take place beyond the school site, providing pupils with opportunities to develop their confidence, independence and skills in real-life settings.

At Cury, every pupil is recognised and valued as an individual. Our specialist knowledge and experience enable us to understand each pupil’s unique needs, strengths and aspirations, and to provide the right support to help them achieve their goals in a way that works best for them.

We highly value the importance of working collaboratively with families and recognise the significant contribution they make to their child’s education and wellbeing. We appreciate and value the support, knowledge and expertise that families bring, and believe that strong, trusting relationships between home and school are essential in helping our learners to thrive.

We also recognise the importance of a multi-agency, integrated approach to care and support. We work closely with families and external professionals, sharing expertise and working together to develop a holistic understanding of each learner’s needs. Through this collaborative approach, we aim to ensure that the right support and provision are in place to enable every learner to make progress, achieve their aspirations and reach their full potential.
