Dear Parents and Carers
As the students have only been in their respective classes since January, the decision has been made for all students to remain in the same class (with the same staff) going into the next academic year. As it stands, we are giving due consideration to moving students up into the next class as they return from Christmas, but this is not set in stone, and we will consult with you all prior to any changes.

Attendance
Regular attendance and punctuality play a vital role in your child’s academic success and personal development. Being present in school every day ensures that students do not miss out on valuable lessons, activities, and social interactions that support their learning journey.
This week, our whole school attendance was 97% - well done!
Thank you for your continued support in making sure your child attends school regularly and arrives on time. Together, we can help every student reach their full potential.
Please read the following letter, originally sent out in January, which explains the changes that came into effect in August 2024 -

Poldhu
Poldhu class have enjoyed getting creative this Arts Week by making some beautiful artwork to sell at the summer fayre! They have been flower pressing, painting pebbles and filled lavender bags. In English, the children have loved reading the story 'The Dinosaur that Pooped a Planet' by Tom Fletcher. They were so excited to write their own version of this story before illustrating and publishing their books! In the kitchen, Poldhu class have made some healthy choices, practicing their safe cutting skills to make fruit kebabs.
This half term, the children are learning about beach safety and took a trip to the Lizard Lifeboat Station where they tried on the kit and had a look inside the Tamar Class Lifeboat! They wrote a letter to say 'thank you' for their amazing visit! The RNLI also gave the children some tips on how to float in the water which they practiced at the pool!

Gunwalloe
In Gunwalloe class we have been thinking about ‘Cury Kindness’ . We have had lots of discussion about how kindness can be shown and how it feels when someone is kind to us. It has been lovely to share our ideas together. The sun has been shining, and we have really enjoyed time at the lake the past few weeks. We have been overcoming new challenges such as jumping in the water and feeling very proud of our achievements. It has been lovely to see how we can be proud of each other and support friends too.
We are really enjoying our Dragon topic in class and have started to think about how artists use ‘tone’ and ‘texture’ to add detail to our artwork. We have used our imagination to think about the setting or place dragons would live and also started to think about creating and describing our own dragons using powerful adjectives. We can’t wait to put everything together towards the end of term. Watch this space for our creations!

Polurrian
What a fantastic couple of weeks it's been for the Polurrian group!
We've dived into our exciting new topic on rivers, and it's safe to say it's been a splash hit! Students have shown a genuine interest in some of the world's great rivers, and their enthusiasm has made learning truly engaging. We're looking forward to exploring this topic further.
With the amazing weather we've been having, the lake has been a hive of activity. Everyone has been engaging brilliantly with the water, with the katakanu and swimming proving to be incredibly popular. It's wonderful to see such enjoyment and participation.
We're really looking forward to making the most of these last couple of weeks of term!
