Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of our first full term at Cury school, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for your ongoing support. It has been a truly special and exciting term as we have settled into life as a school community, and we are so proud of everything the children have achieved.

I cannot thank Richard and the entire staff team enough for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to providing the very best opportunities and experiences for all our learners. Their passion and drive have been evident in everything they do, and we are incredibly lucky to have such a talented and caring team.

A huge thank you as well to all those who attended the Open Event last night. It was wonderful to showcase the fantastic work our students have been doing, and we are all so proud of the school and the success of every single one of our students. We look forward to hosting more events in the future, where we can continue to share our achievements with you.

As we look ahead to the summer term, we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead – from outdoor exploration, science week, activities week to whole-school events that will bring us all together. There is much to look forward to, and we can’t wait to share these experiences with you.

Once again, thank you for your continued support. It really does make a difference, and we are so grateful to be working in partnership with such wonderful families.

Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable break.

Our classes

Poldhu

Poldhu have worked so hard this half term and we are extremely proud of their effort, resilience and progress both academically and emotionally. They have enjoyed animal therapy at the farm where they learnt how to care for the sheep, horses and chickens, and enjoyed cuddles with the guinea pigs! Poldhu class have also been working on their project this half term to create their own recipe. After designing it, recipe writing and calculating the total cost of ingredients, the children took a trip to the supermarket to buy their ingredients before cooking their food in the kitchen. The children really enjoyed the tractor that came to school and were able to climb inside it! Poldhu class have continued to enjoy swimming and soft play as well as engaging well in their academic and sensory lessons. We hope they all enjoy a well-deserved break, and take every opportunity to enjoy the spring sunshine!

Gunwalloe

Gunwalloe have had a busy few weeks . We  have packed in lots learning and had lots of fun too!

In Maths we have been learning to calculate using our knowledge of place value and HTO (hundreds, tens and ones). We needed to get some gardening equipment ready for planting so we needed to find out how to calculate using money. Our learning about HTO really helped us understand this.

We have been thinking about one our Cury core values - 'Respect' and how we can show respect in many different ways. We can be respectful to people and to environments. It feels so good to be learning how we can be the best possible version of ourselves . We have visited our class name- Gunwalloe Beach, it was a beautiful place. We wanted to look after it as we were worried bout plastic pollution, so we decided to pick up any small bits of plastic we could see whilst we had a walk. We keep reminding ourselves that mistakes are ok because mistakes help us grow.

Polurrian

What an exciting week it's been for the Polurrian class! We've been busy with a fantastic range of activities. Our students had a brilliant time learning about fitness and gym etiquette at the local gym, where they even got to try out some of the CV equipment!

Adding to the excitement, we welcomed a local farmer who brought along his impressive tractor. The students were absolutely thrilled to see it up close and learn about farming life.

We're so proud of all the Polurrian class students and their enthusiasm this week. We hope everyone enjoys a wonderful and restful half-term break, and we look forward to seeing you all again in the summer term!
