Issue 06

Our students continue to make great progress and it's lovely to see them all accessing all of the offsite provisions that contribute towards their overall development.  Recently, we have added animal interactions to our repertoire, and one of our HLTA's (Lucy) has begun her forest school training so that we can then also deliver this on site.  Next week, some staff are due to undertake rebound therapy training and will be able to put our newly acquired trampoline to good use.

I'm looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible on our parents/open evening, so we can celebrate the success of our pupils.

Richard Triggs

Head of Provision

Our classes

Poldhu

Poldhu class have had a very busy and exciting couple of weeks! They visited Poldhu beach to explore the geography of the beach their class is named after. They have been swimming,  attended soft play and visited the Donkey Sanctuary for animal therapy and to learn how to care for animals. When not having fun offsite, Poldhu have been enjoying story time, developing their money skills and engaging in sensory Moving to Learn sessions! They have also continued to develop their skills in the kitchen learning to safely cut fruit to make fruit salads and smoothies. The children have also been making the most of our new swing and have enjoyed trips to the local park.

Gunwalloe

In Gunwalloe class we have loved listening to a chapter a day of our class book 'Charle And The Chocolate Factory'. We have just started chapter 14 where Charlie is about to meet Mr Willie Wonka himself! In DT, we have designed and started to make our sling-shot cars, which has been great fun. Next week we will finish the car body and get to race them to see which has the best Air resistance. In our Geography we have been learning about all the ways land can be used. Its amazing to look at Google Earth and find the places we know and live and see how the land in our local area is used in so many different ways.

Polurrian

Another week has flown by, and the Polurrian class has been buzzing with exciting learning experiences! We've seen some truly remarkable progress in Maths this week, with many students demonstrating a real enthusiasm for length and measurement. Two of the Polurrian students have already filled entire Maths books with their incredible work!

But it wasn't all about Maths this week! The Polurrian class also embarked on a fantastic trip to their classes beach, "Polurrian." The students were eager to explore. We searched for fascinating creatures hiding in the rock pools, raced boats in the stream, and built impressive sand sculptures on the beach. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and the joy of being by the sea.

We are so proud of all the Polurrian class students and their enthusiasm for learning this week! Keep up the amazing work!
